​Our Mommies Hands is a community based project designed to empower youth and professionals through the powers of storytelling, reflective art, and creative writing.  Our approach is strengths-based, addressing the social and emotional needs of youth, prompting them to explore their relationship with self and others through their experiences, to unlock their true potential, and to support a narrative that they are proud to share. Additionally, our project extends itself to professionals, supporting their ability to deliver high quality service to the youth communities they serve, by designing activities that prompt them to review, restore, and renew their practices to maximize their professional potential.

OMH offers its platform for storytelling through many different mediums (dialogue, reflective art, and creative writing).  We have traditionally shared stories through written narrative, derived from our in-depth writer’s workshops which have focused on the significant women who’ve shaped our lives, with high school students, professionals, and various adult communities as our storytellers.   

In addition to our storyteller's podium, we offer arts-based activities workshops to professionals who service youth as well as youth communities, covering current and relevant topics.

Our mission is to promote self-discovery, empowerment, and healing through the powers of storytelling, reflective art, and creative writing, ​to promote wellness, reflection, collaboration, and change.
